The term “Telia” refers to the castor oil treatment applied to the yarn before dyeing — a unique pre-weaving ritual that softens the cotton, enhances the absorption of natural dyes, and protects the fibers.

The process begins with a meticulous tie-and-dye technique, where each thread is hand-tied in precise sections according to the desired motif — a mental map of the final pattern, envisioned long before the weaving begins. The yarns are then dyed multiple times in natural red, black, and off-white, each hue representing purity, strength, and harmony.
